Tester: Don’t Fence Me In

Friday, February 10th, 2006

The Helena Independent Record broke a story this morning on Conrad Burns’ planned fundraiser at the Yellowstone Club–an exclusive community near Big Sky.

From the article:

The Yellowstone Club is a private ski and golf club surrounded by a high-end subdivision. Lifetime admission to the club is $250,000, which also includes the right to build a home there, according to a Feb. 8 article in London??s The Evening Standard. Homes, which cost between $2 million to $20 million, can be sold only to other club members, the article reported.

…it continues…

Burns?? Democratic front-runner challengers, State Auditor John Morrison and state Senate President Jon Tester, of Big Sandy, both said they??d never had a fundraiser at the at the Yellowstone Club.

Tester said he??d never been there or to any gated community.

???Does that apply to livestock???? he said. ???I??ve been in lots of those.???

As you can see, the Yellowstone Club delivers much more than a plain old gated community–most notably, the exclusive ski area and golf course. Evidently, these perks also include access to U.S. Senator Conrad Burns at Burns Winterfest ‘06.

With a name like that, it sounds like Senator Burns might be giving this year’s winter games in Torino a run for their money…

Electric City Office Energizes Campaign

Our Great Falls headquarters is now up and running–and off to a strong start after one week on the ground. We’re located at 4307 North Star Boulevard, on the Northeast side of town.

I’m glad to be back in Great Falls after working here last cycle for the Montana Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee. It’s a great community with a strong Democratic party organization and an outstanding legislative delegation.

The Great Falls Tribune reported on the office opening today, unfortunately, the article is not available on the Trib’s website. Here’s a clip from today’s story:

“Great Falls is a prime location for the campaign headquarters,” Tester said, in a news release. “It’s a top-notch site as a geographic, economic, and transportation center for Central Montana.”

Stay tuned for details about an open house at the Great Falls office in the near future.
