My Husband’s Birthday

Friday, August 18th, 2006

[The following email was sent to supporters of Jon Tester yesterday. To sign up to receive free email alerts from the campaign, click here.]

Happy Birthday Jon!
This Sunday is a big day — we’re celebrating my husband Jon Tester’s 50th birthday.

I’m writing to ask for your help in giving him an important gift — the chance to serve all Montanans in the U.S. Senate.

As you know, Jon has been working double-time over the past several weeks, spending long hours bringing in the harvest on our farm here in Big Sandy and also meeting with voters across the state.

Our family, including Shon, Christine, James, and our grand-daughter Kilikina, is looking forward to sharing Jon’s 50th Birthday with our new friends around the state and country. Together, we can make this his best birthday ever — and together, we can make 2006 the best year for Montana.

Please help us celebrate Jon’s birthday by wrapping up one or all of these B-day gifts!

1. Contribute $50 to the campaign in honor of Jon’s 50th — or any amount you can afford

2. Tell 5 Friends about Jon Tester and ask them to join the campaign

3. Sign up to attend a Birthday Party for Jon this Sunday at 5 pm. Parties are being held across the state. They’re a great way for you to meet fellow Tester supporters — and you’ll have the opportunity to speak with Jon on a conference call to all of the parties.

I’ve been married to Jon for 28 years. He’s always been a hard worker — for our family and for all Montanans. We have raised our two fantastic children in a state that has cared about their future. Now it’s time to make the U.S. Senate look just a little bit more like Montana, securing the quality of life we all enjoy for future generations.

Thank you,

Sharla Tester & the Tester Family

Help Bring in the Harvest

Thursday, August 10th, 2006

This week, Jon Tester is splitting his work on the campaign trail with long hours on the combine at home.

He’s in the fields west of Big Sandy, working hard to bring in the harvest to make ends meet for his family, on the same land his grandfather and father farmed.

That’s why I’m asking you to join Jon and work twice as hard this month – to help Jon’s campaign Harvest
Change
this November.

The fact is, Jon Tester is a working man. If he’snot in the field this week, his crops will be left unharvested.

Please, take action today and help Jon bring in the harvest – and help keep our momentum going while Jon is working on the farm:

Ask Your Friends and Family to Join Jon’s Campaign

http://www.testerforsenate.com/invite

Our campaign is powered by people. Please take a moment and ask your friends and family to join you in our effort to send a working Montanan to represent us in Washington. Our goal is to double our support by September 1st.

Host or Attend a Birthday Party for Jon on August 20th

http://www.testerforsenate.com/houseparty

Jon’s 50th Birthday is coming up in about two weeks. Show your support and introduce your friends to Jon by hosting or attending one of many houseparties being held statewide to celebrate Jon’s 50th birthday.

Make a Contribution to the Campaign

While Jon is in the field, Conrad Burns is hosting lobbyist fundraisers to raise special interest cash. Last quarter, ordinary Montanans helped our campaign stay on pace with Conrad Burns’ fundraising efforts. Please make a contribution today to ensure that our campaign keeps the momentum while Jon is working the harvest.

Here in Montana, we know the value of helping our neighbors. Please take one or all of these actions today to keep Jon’s campaign moving forward while he’s out in the field.

Thank you for all that you do.

Let’s Thank Montana’s Wildland Firefighters

Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006

Thank our Firefighters

The brave firefighters who battle Montana’s wildfires have been in the news lately.

Here at Montanans for Tester, we appreciate the hard work that our firefighters do to protect our communities, ranches, farms and public lands. Fighting wildland fires is a physically demanding and dangerous job — and we believe that our firefighters deserve our thanks.

Please take a moment to join other folks who are saying “thank you” to our firefighters.

Thank our Firefighters

We need to send the right message to the hardworking men and women who risk their lives every summer to protect Montana’s residents and private and public lands.

It takes just a moment to tell our firefighters that they are always welcome in Montana — and that Montanans will always appreciate their hard work.

Tester Statement on the Death of Corporal Phillip Baucus, USMC

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

Jon Tester today released the following statement:

“Sharla and I are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Phillip Baucus. The hearts of all Montanans go out to the Baucus family and we pray for them and for all the men and women of our armed forces in harm’s way.”
