Freedom First

Jon Tester believes in freedom first. Under the PATRIOT Act, the FBI could obtain records on every video you ever rented and every book you ever checked out. They can obtain your bank statements and medical records; they can even keep tabs on our guns. What’s worse is they can request this information for any reason at all, without your knowledge.

Tester believes we should be fighting terrorists, not invading the lives of innocent Americans. In Washington, Tester will fight for more human intelligence, a greater investment in our Special Forces, and closing backdoors to terrorism like the one left open by the Burns-Abramoff immigration policy in the Marianas Islands.

Commitment

Monday, August 28th, 2006

This is Jon Tester.

My brother spent 34 years protecting America in the Montana Air National Guard, so when Senator Burns questions my commitment to America’s security, you can bet I’ll set the record straight.

We should hit the terrorists as hard as possible, wherever they are. And I support making our military and homeland security second to none.

But the politicians in Washington aren’t doing enough to protect us.

They have failed to secure our ports and borders as recommended by the 9-11 commission. They don’t even have control of our northern border. And they’re fighting a war in Iraq with no plan, and no end in sight. And they’re not giving our troops the tools they need to be safe and successful.

Montanans deserve a Senator who will require the president to present a clear plan to put Iraqis in charge and bring our troops home.

As your Senator, I will never waver in keeping America safe and strong.

I’m Jon Tester, candidate for U.S. Senate, and I approve this message.

Begins

Jon: Who I am begins with where I’m from.

I’m Jon Tester and I’m from Big Sandy, where our family has worked the land for four generations.

It is here that my wife Sharla and I taught our children that family is everything, that your word is your bond, and building a better future means working hard everyday.

Building a better future for Montana is what we work to do in the State Senate.

Together, with Governor Brian Schweitzer, we lowered the cost of prescription drugs for Montana’s seniors. We eliminated taxes on thirteen thousand small businesses and we invested in Montana schools.

All without raising taxes.

Now I’m running for the United States Senate because Washington has lost its way and we need to set it right.

Bring honesty to government, help America become energy independent, and stop saddling our children with debt.

I’m Jon Tester, candidate for the U.S. Senate, and I approve this message. Together, we can bring real change to Washington.

The Ride

Tuesday, August 8th, 2006

Jon: This is Jon Tester.

It’s harvest time here in Big Sandy. That means long days on the combine.

For me and my wife Sharla, working hard and balancing our budget is the only way we can keep farming the land my grandfather once farmed.

To give our kids opportunities, instead of leaving them in debt.

That’s why in the State Senate I worked with Brian Schweitzer to balance Montana’s budget and eliminate taxes for thirteen thousand small businesses.

I’m running for the U.S. Senate to bring Montana values to Washington – living within our means and cutting taxes for working families.

So when the Washington special interests show up with their lying negative ads, remember:

They’re the ones who haven’t balanced a budget or cut your taxes.

Maybe they’ve forgotten what it’s like to live paycheck-to-paycheck or harvest-to-harvest.

But I haven’t. It’s time for a change.

Jon Tester. Real Change. Real Montana.

I’m Jon Tester, candidate for the U.S. Senate and I approve this message.

Cab

Tuesday, August 8th, 2006

Jon: I’m driving this truck to every corner of the state of Montana.

Because Montanans deserve a Senator who will meet them face-to-face and tell it to them straight.

You see, special interests have a tight grip on Washington, leaving us out.

It doesn’t have to be that way. Special interests will never hitch a ride in this truck.

Narrator: And Jon Tester won’t rest until Washington is put back on the side of Montana families.

He might stop, every once in a while, to eat, though.

Jon: I’m Jon Tester and I approve this message.
